How does it work?
First your dentist will examine your teeth and gums to make sure they are healthy. Your lips and gums will be covered with an isolation material to protect them during the treatment. Then, the Zoom whitening gel is applied on the teeth, which is activated by the Zoom! light source. The gel and light work together to gently break up the stains on your teeth. After three 15-minute applications within one hour, the gel is rinsed off and the treatment is complete — leaving you with a brighter, whiter smile.
Managing sensitivity
Each session can be customized to maximize patient comfort and expectations. If you are concerned about sensitive teeth, the system also includes desensitizers to help minimize sensitivity and protect your tooth enamel.
Everyone responds differently to whitening, and sensitivity is sometimes a side effect of whitening treatments.
We recommend to start using a sensitivity toothpaste like Fluoridex or sensodyne a week before and after your treatments. You can also use a mild desensitizer like Relief ACP in conjunction with your treatments to further minimize sensitivity.
